WAM Quality Endorsement

Make the quality of your microcredentials visible

Independent, evidence-based endorsement for organisations that design, deliver, assess or issue microcredentials—and for individual microcredentials.

Clear scope  •  Proportionate review  •  Verifiable endorsement

Independent quality review

Quality you can demonstrate—not simply claim

The WAM Endorsement Service provides an independent review of the systems, practices and evidence supporting your microcredentials. It is rigorous enough to build trust, while remaining practical, proportionate and accessible.

01

Purpose

What need does the organisation or microcredential address, for whom, and with what intended value?

02

Rigour

Are the learning outcomes, assessment, verification and quality controls clear, credible and supported by evidence?

03

Accessibility

Can intended learners understand, access and complete the learning and assessment fairly?

Two complementary routes

Choose the endorsement that fits your needs

Organisation-level

Quality Endorsement for Issuing Organisations

For organisations that design, deliver, assess or issue microcredentials.

The review considers whether the organisation has credible and consistent arrangements for:

  • Governance and accountability
  • Curriculum and learning design
  • Assessment and verification
  • Quality assurance and continuous improvement
  • Digital credential issuance and portability
  • Employer, professional or community engagement
Endorsement scope
The endorsement may cover the whole organisation or a clearly defined unit, academy, credential family, delivery model or geographical area.
Credential-level

Quality Endorsement for Microcredentials

For a specific microcredential or a defined portfolio of microcredentials.

The review examines whether the credential has:

  • Clear and measurable learning outcomes
  • A defined purpose and target group
  • Demonstrable skills or competences
  • Valid and fair assessment
  • Transparent information for learners
  • Secure and verifiable digital issuance
  • Appropriate review and quality assurance
Endorsement scope
The decision applies only to the reviewed credential, version, delivery modes, languages and other scope elements recorded in the endorsement.

A clear and responsible endorsement

WAM endorsement is a voluntary, non-statutory quality recognition. It does not constitute accreditation by a public authority, regulatory approval, formal qualification recognition, academic credit, legal certification or guaranteed third-party recognition.

The issuing organisation remains responsible for its legal compliance, learning provision, assessment, credential issuance and communications.

Frequently asked questions

What applicants usually ask

Can an organisation apply for both endorsements?

Yes. An organisation may seek endorsement as an Issuing Organisation and separately submit one or more microcredentials for individual endorsement. Each decision has its own scope.

Does organisation endorsement cover every course?

Not automatically. The endorsement applies only to the units, credential families, delivery modes, countries or other elements explicitly included in the approved scope.

How long does the process take?

The timetable depends on the scope, the number of credentials and the readiness of the evidence. WAM confirms the expected schedule after the initial consultation.

Can the audit be conducted online?

Most reviews can be completed through document review, virtual meetings and system demonstrations. Interviews or an on-site visit may be proposed where justified by the scope.

How long is endorsement valid?

Endorsement is normally granted for three years. A shorter period or specific monitoring requirement may be applied where appropriate.

What happens when a credential changes?

Material changes to ownership, governance, learning outcomes, assessment, delivery, quality assurance or credential technology should be notified to WAM and may require a limited review.

Can we use the normal WAM logo?

Successful applicants receive an approved quality-label package. The WAM corporate logo should not be used independently to imply unrestricted partnership, accreditation or endorsement.

How much does the service cost?

Fees depend on the selected pathway, proposed scope and number of microcredentials submitted. Contact WAM for an initial discussion and tailored quotation.
